THE GLENN CROSTON
2 MILLION BAHT CHALLENGE
Glenn's challenge to himself some time in April 2008 was to raise 2 million Baht, or
approximately 35,000 pounds sterling, to purchase land and transport in the Foundation's
name so that a permanent, purpose-built children's home can be established in Lamphun and
the Foundation would be self-sufficient transport wise for the number of children in its care at
that time. Subsequently, Glenn undertook a 1,200 km sponsored walk from Banglamung to
Croston House Children’s Home in Lamphun, which took place between 5 September and 17 October. That was our major fundraiser for 2008 and it has so far attracted over half a million
Baht in sponsorship money with some outstanding pledges still due.  As a result, the Foundation now has its own transport (see the picture below), some kitchen furniture and a gas stove and
he has now turned his attention to identifying a suitable plot of land, preferably in the same
area as the Foundation is now, so that the children will not have to change schools again.
The rental agreement between the Foundation and the owner of the two properties it is currently using was due to expire in August of this year but has just been extended for a further twelve months and Glenn is looking to be able to raise sufficient funds this year to at least be able to
buy some land before then with a view to the Foundation moving there some time in 2010 at the latest. If you'd like to help Glenn achieve his ambition, then please get in touch at g_croston@yahoo.com.
